Hello !

My name is Maxence, and I am a Junior Gameplay Programmer located in Bordeaux, France, currently aiming towards a career in
AI Programming.

I currently have a year of experience working for Ubisoft Paris, and prior to that have studied for 5 years at Rubika Supinfogame, both Game Programming and Game Design.

At the moment I am a Gameplay Programmer but developing Artificial Intelligence for Games is the part of development that interests me the most and in which I am trying to build expertise.
Hence I am now looking for new professional experiences to further my knowledge and skill in AI.

Experience

Ubisoft Paris Mobile

Gameplay Programmer - AI Programmer

I was part of the development for an unannounced tactical multiplayer mobile game at Ubisoft Paris Mobile, working within the Gameplay Programming team on the core experience of the game.

I worked there for a year and a half and was granted a lot of autonomy and responsibilities during that period. This helped me confirm my abilities with Unity and C#, on a large project, within a team of senior programmers.

I essentially worked on core gameplay features, refactorizations, and debugging throughout the project, but at one point was granted the ownership of the development of an AI system for the bots of the game. This system was developed based on the principles of Utility AI, with the goal of making the bots competitive and aware of the different gameplay elements and tactics.

Rubika Supinfogame

Master Game Programming Student

I studied for five years at Rubika Supinfogame, a French specialized Videogame School. I started there as a Game Design Student and ended up becoming a Game Programmer along the way.

During my Bachelor years, I studied Game Design fundamentals, got introduced to Gameplay Programming with Unity and C#, and got to work with the Animation and Industrial Design schools as part of an interdisciplinary cursus within the Rubika campus. I worked on a boardgame, a Zelda-like videogame, as well as a mobile game, mainly assuming the role of Gameplay Programmer.

Then, during the final years of my Master, I specialized in Game Programming, and got to work with C++, the Unreal Engine, as well as other specialties such as Tool or AI Programming. I had the opportunity to work on a VR game, as well as lead the development on our final end-of-studies videogame project, where we worked in studio-like conditions for the better part of a year.
